Tekonsha P2 Brake Controller Sends Back 1.9 Volts when Testing with Vehicle Parked  

Question:

have 12v, in to controler. But only 1.9 out on blue wire when brakes pressed. have 1.9 at caravan breaks ,trailor conector as well. Have tried adjusting controller, what could be wrong please

Proportional brake controllers such as the P2 # 90885 will only send back the full voltage (whatever you have it set to) with the brake pedal when the vehicle is moving. When sitting still it is not sensing deceleration so it only sends back enough power to hold the brakes; as if you were sitting at a stop light.

If you apply the manual override instead of the brake pedal and do the test again it will show the full voltage of what you have it set to.
