Installation Of Reese Outboard 5th Wheel Rail Kit For 2016 Ford F-150

Question:

Hi I bought a Reese 5th wheel rail kit for my 2015 F-150. When I measured and laid out the rails I had to drill the holes to the frame bracket through the angled part of the bed corrugation. So when I try to put in the U spacers the run into the angled part of the corrugation before they hit the bolt and dont stack directly on top of each other. Concerned that they will slip out of place so looking for suggestions on what to do. I am considering moving them away from the corrugation so they can stack directly on top of each other, but they will be about 1/2inch away from the bolt so not sure if is a good idea. Let me know if you need pics and I can send them.

You can see from the attached installation video that the spacers are still used on that angled part of the corrugation when installing the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Outboard Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP56034-53. You may need to loosen your assembly slightly to get them to stack correctly, but that is the proper installation. I do not recommend moving the bolt away from the corrugation because this installation is exactly what has been tested regarding the strength and structure of this particular rail system.
