Fit of TruXport TX246901 Soft Tonneau Cover on 2014 Dodge Ram Pickup with Fluid Transfer Tank
Question:
I have a 2014 Ram 2500 with 64inch bed. It has an extra tank in the bed which is flush with the top of the side rails, but the tank fill located on left side of tank is about an inch above the rails. Will a soft cover be able to go over that fill?

Expert Reply:
It is likely that many soft tonneau covers' flexible tarp will contact the fill spout of a bed-mounted fluid transfer tank that extends above the bed rails by an inch or so. If you don't mind this from a cosmetic viewpoint (potentially seeing a minor bump from the spout) then so long as the spout has no sharp edges that could puncture the tarp you may be happy with the installed appearance of a cover like TruXedo's TruXport # TX246901, the cover you referenced.
However, the encouraging news is that since this cover installs with tracks that sit on top of your bed rails you will actually gain a bit of height above the rails. It might be close but there is a good chance the tarp will clear the spout without contact. Please refer to the linked photo that shows the installed rail.
