Can Diode Style Tow Bar Wiring Be Installed on 2016 Jeep Patriot
Question:
I am going to install a Blue Ox base plate on my parents 2016 Jeep Patriot #BX1130. Wiring the brake lights...can I use the diode kit and if so do I need a four or six diode set? Does this model Patriot have brake light knockouts in the light assembly? If it does I may opt for the bulb and socket wiring kit. Thanks!

Your 2016 Jeep Patriot can have a diode tow bar wiring kit installed on it. Basically regardless of the taillight setup you can wire up any vehicle to work like a combined taillight setup. Since this will be easier and the kits for this style (4 diodes) cost less this is the route I typically recommend for people.
For lighting you can use the diode kit, # RM-15267. This comes with a round 6-way connector that you will install on the front of your towed vehicle and enough coiled wire to go from there to the RV.
There are bulb and socket kits available for your vehicle as well but there isn't a knock out part of the assemblies that is designed specifically for this.
