Will Draw Tite Hitch Fit 2017 Honda CR-V Touring and Allow Liftgate Sensors to Open Hatch

Question:

Hi, Will this product: 36597 mess up the kick access on the back of my Touring model. I can now kick under the bumper and my back hatch automatically opens. Will this hitch mess up the sensor? Thanks

It is my understanding that the Honda hitch crosstube goes straight across and isn't a V-shape like the Draw-Tite hitch # 36597. The design difference allows the Draw-Tite hitch to work with the hands-free liftgate sensor on the 2017 Honda CR-V.

However it is also possible for a hitch, any hitch, to partially block the sensor so if that happens you would have to kick your foot off to one side or the other of where you would normally activate the sensor.
