What Fifth Wheel Bracket Kit Will Fit A 2011 Ford F-250 Diesel Using A Curt 16K E5 Hitch

Question:

I have a curt 16k E5 hitch and when I had it installed on my 08 F250 Gas engine they used Husky rails and a universal frame kit. I traded that truck in for a 2011 F250 Diesel and would like to use the same rails but need a new frame kit...I prefer minimal to no drilling. Which adapter kit is best for this application?

For your 2011 Ford F-250 Diesel I would recommend to use the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Bracket Kit, part # C16448. This is a custom install kit that will use existing holes in the vehicles frame and keep any drilling to a minimum. I am including a link to the installation instructions on the Curt bracket kit.

I would also recommend to use the Curt Fifth Wheel Base Rails, part # C16204, in place of the Husky rails you have now. The Husky rails might not line up with the Curt bracket kit. Manufacturers do not recommend to mix different brands when installing base rails and frame brackets on the same vehicle.

You will also want to make sure that if you have the 2011 Ford F-250 with the 6-3/4 foot bed, that you will be using a slider fifth wheel hitch. The 8 foot bed truck will use a standard fixed fifth wheel hitch.
