Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this OptiMate 1 AC to DC, six volt and 12 volt smart battery charger. Now, this is a nice compact smart charger, which will draw power from an AC wall outlet to automatically charge and maintain batteries on your cars, your motorcycles, lawnmowers, ATVs, and even your personal watercraft. It is designed to work with six volt and 12 volt standard AGM and gel lead-acid batteries. The multi, multiple battery profiles will let you charge a variety of lead-acid battery types at different voltages.
And it uses a four-step charging algorithm, which will automatically charge and maintain without overcharging. What it does is basically analyze your battery condition to provide a customized charge just for you. And it will maintain the battery at 100% to extend battery life, improve performance. Now, it does come with the two different connections. We have the battery clamps right here, which will plug into the connector on the charger here, and then you connect it to the, with the battery clamps.
The length on this is about 20 inches on this cord. The other connection would be the eyelets, which are a little more of a permanent connection. They would make a secure connection to your battery terminals. It does include in-line 15 amp fuse here, which will protect your electronics from potential short circuits. The SAE connector has a nice weatherproof seal on it and a cap to keep out any dirt and water.
And I don't know if you can see but right on the sides of the connector or the plug-in right here, there's actually two slits, one on each side, and what that's for is these are zip tie slits. So, you can put a zip tie through that slit, tighten it down on the connector, and allows easy fastening to your vehicle. Same way, on this cord is about 20 inches long. Now, this is a very simple operation. Uses LED lights on here that will indicate the charging status.
It is a nice, durable, dust proof plug-in case. It includes the 12 foot long charge lead that has the SAE connector that connects to either one of these cords that you're gonna use. And also what's nice is on the front of the case, you can see it has a QR code, code that you can scan and it'll give you more instructions on how to use this. Application, again, is six volt, 12 volt batteries from two to 28 amp hours. And as we mentioned, the battery types it supports is the standard AMG and gel lead-acid batteries. And the maximum charging amperage on this is .6 amps. But that should do it for the review on this OptiMate 1 AC to DC, six volt and 12 volt smart battery charger..
