Recommended Bike Carriers for Two 47-lb Electric Bikes

re: Hollywood Racks SR1 2-Bike Carrier - Spare Tire Mount. I know rating is 75 lbs, but can this rack accommodate 2 electric bikes that weigh 47 lbs each? or is that too much to ask? thank you..

Bike racks made for the higher weights of e-bikes are available but the spare-tire-mount Hollywood Racks SR1 2-Bike Carrier # HRSR1 should not be used for two e-bikes that have a total weight of 94-lbs. The rack itself is likely to handle this weight just fine (despite this being over its rated capacity) but the concern here is that your 94-lbs of bike weight plus the weight of the rack itself, about 19-lbs, brings the total additional load on your spare tire mount to a whopping 113-lbs.
I do not recommend using any spare-tire-mount rack for such heavy bikes.
If your vehicle has a 2-inch hitch we can offer you a choice of dedicated e-bike carriers from Hollywood Racks and Thule, both shown on the linked page. These have the weight handling capacity you need and each includes locks for your bikes and for the rack itself.
