Recommended Flat Tow Set-up For 2003 Honda CR-V
Question:
Purchased a 2003 Honda CR-V with baseplate installed with falcon 2 tow bar. From another party I purchased a 5250 road master tow bar that was used on an 02 and 06 Saturn. How do I make this work on my Honda?

To make your baseplates work with your Roadmaster 5250 Falcon tow bar, you need to determine what base plates you have you have on your 2003 Honda CR-V. We have the Roadmaster XL style # 1541-1, the Roadmaster MX # 1541-5, or the Blue Ox # BX2232. The Roadmaster baseplates will work with no adapter needed but you may want the Roadmaster Quick Disconnect Tow Bar Base Assembly # 910021-00. If you have Blue Ox baseplates, you will need the Roadmaster Tow Bar to Blue Ox Brackets Adapter # RM-031. This will make your tow bar compatible with your baseplates. You may also want the RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables - 6,000 lbs # RM-643 if you don't already have those cables.
For your tow bar wiring, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This kit will give you the diodes to allow you to utilze your vehicle's factory wiring, yet protect it. This kit gives you a nice clean 6-way connection at the front of your Honda along with the coil wiring connector. This allows your system to be clean, discrete, and extremely functional using the 12V power to maintain your Honda battery.
For your braking system, I recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251. This system when installed becomes a plug and play system. There is only an initial adjustment needed at installation then you just get to forget it and play.
The last thing you need is a high-low adapter. I've attached an article to help you find the right one for your application. I've also linked the page to our options for you.
