Trailer Brake Controller Installation in 2016 Cherokee Trailhawk with Factory Tow Package
Question:
Does the vehicle have a plug-in for brake controllers, or must wiring be run to the rear?
asked by: David G
Expert Reply:
If your Jeep Cherokee came from the factory with a 7-way trailer socket at the rear bumper then there will be a brake controller connection port under the dash. In this case you can plug in a controller like the Prodigy P3 # 90195 or P2 # 90885 simply by using the wiring adapter # 3014-P.
If not you can still hardwire the controller using our brake controller install kit # ETBC7. The Jeep needs to have a 4-pole harness in place too; if you need one use part # 118605.
