Yes, the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring for the 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe, item # 118415, is circuit protected. This means that if there is a short on the trailer the module will protect the vehicle circuitry. With the 118415 module the harness would need to be replaced in this situation.
If you would like a converter that is circuit protected and can be reset in the event of a short circuit situation, you could use the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness with Install Kit, item # 119250KIT, for your 2010 Santa Fe. This is a hard wire kit that will allow you to reset the converter in the event of a dead short. To reset this box you would need to pull the inline fuse on the power wire for a period of 1 minute or more. Once the fuse is reinserted the module will reset and work correctly again. In the case of a momentary short the unit will reset itself automatically.
Many of the professional installers that purchase parts from us use the 119190KIT for installation on their customers vehicles to further protect the sensitive circuitry and computers on newer vehicles. All of the supplies needed to install this kit are included. I have linked installation instructions and a video for you to review also.
