Is it Possible to Use a Weight Distribution System and Sway Control on a Boat Trailer
Question:
Is there a WD set up available for boat trailers? I am having an Aluminum traier built for a boat that I am getting. The trailer will be 7000 GTW capacity, but I anticipate a loaded weight of 5000-6000. Assuming the upper end of that range, is there a WD setup available? The trailer will have Electric over Hydraulic brakes. The single bar pole tongue kit is only rated to 4000 GTW. I expect to be able to to with out WD, but after having it on another trailer that is close to 5000 loaded, I would rather not tow without WD.

It is possible to use weight distribution on a boat trailer. You will need to add a pole tongue adapter like Reese Pole-Tongue Adapter for Weight Distribution Systems, # RP58393. This adapter will fit tongue widths from 1-5/8 inches to 5 inches and tongue heights from 3 inches to 6 inches.
With the pole tongue adapter installed, you can add a weight distribution system like Reese SC Weight Distribution w Sway Control, # RP66155. I have included a link to the installation instructions for reference.
