Parts Needed to Convert Tandem Axle Trailer with Dexter 7k Axles to Electric Over Hydraulic Disc

Question:

2011 Toyota Tundra Dbl Cab with a Prodigy P2 controller pulling a 38ft gooseneck tandem trailer with 7k Dexter 4inch axles. The trailer loaded comes in at 12K lbs. What components would you recommend to convert to a disk brake system?

Expert Reply:

For the disc brake assemblies you would want the Kodiak 7k disc brake kit part # K2HR712D. This is confirmed as a fit for your Dexter 7k axles and is Dacromet coated which will prevent corrosion. You'll need two sets of these. One for each axle.

Then for an electric over hydraulic actuator kit we recommend the Hydrastar brand the highest since it has the quickest reaction time and is the most reliable. For a kit that has all the tandem brake lines needed plus a breakaway system you would want the part # CAR-HBA16-2.

With those two part numbers you'd have everything you'd need. You Prodigy P2 would work great with the Hydrastar as well since it is designed for use with EOH brake systems.
