Troubleshooting Right Directional Signal Not Functioning
Question:
I have tested the right directional signal terminal on the 2013 GMC 2500 Sierra. Tester indicates intermitting source of current to the tester. What could be my problem? Thanks

If you are using a incandescent circuit tester like # PTW2993, you will see if the ground is bad because you will get signal to your tester with a solid ground that will light the bulb in the tester just like a rear directional blinker.
If the problem is with your 2013 Sierra, then it is most likely a ground near the tail light that is bad. If it is with a trailer, I would test the trailer connection on the vehicle first and then trace the issue back to either a shorted wire or a bad ground on the trailer. You will also want to check the actual bulb as well. Replace wiring or bulbs as needed.
I've attached a couple articles to help.
