How to Back up When Using the Pro Series Weight Distribution with Sway Control # PS49901
Question:
A statement is made that this system does not allow backing up. Please explain. Does this mean you have to take away bar or weight distribution system off before backing into campsite?

The Pro Series Weight Distribution System w Friction Sway Control # PS49901 is a Weight Distribution (WD) system that uses the Reese Friction Sway Control Kit # 83660. When this kit is installed, it does not allow you to back up. You will have to remove the Friction Sway Control Kit before backing up, and then re-installing it once you are ready to hit the road again. You do not have to remove the whole WD system.
A step up from the Pro Series WD system would be the Reese Strait-Line WD with Sway Control # RP66084. This WD system has a Tongue Weight (TW) range from 600-1,200 lbs as opposed to the Pro Series 750-1,000 lbs. It also allows you to back up without having to remove anything. The only other thing that you will need to be able to tow is a hitch ball. You can use # A-90 for a 2 inch Hitch Ball or # C40008 for a 2-5/16 inch Hitch Ball.
Pro Series and Reese are both owned by the parent company Horizon Global, so you really are just looking at an upgrade to what you were currently looking at. The Strait-Line WD systems are some of the nicest WD systems that we currently carry.
