Troubleshooting Installation Of Brake Controller For 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe
Question:
Problem after install of Prodigy P3 controller and 3015-P plug in for my 2005 Chevy Tahoe with factory install 7-way connector at rear bumber. After install and start up of vehicle, no trailer attached the vehicle bell dings constantly and the vehicle brake light flashes on and off constantly. If I unplug the unit all is good again. Bad unit causing issue? Or could this be something else, looking for ideas. Thanks!

I called my contact at Tekonsha about the brake controller issue you said you are having.
First, unplug the # 3015-P from your Tahoe and look at the plug wiring. The upper left hand wire should be Blue, middle left hand wire should be Black, upper right hand wire should be Red and the lower right hand wire should be White. If those check out unplug the connector at the back of the brake controller.
The plug will be labeled ABCD. The wire for D should be Blue, C is White, B is Red, and A should be Black.
If any of these wires are not correct you will need a new # 3015-P adapter. If all of the wires are correctly run then let me know and I will be glad to see if we can troubleshoot further.
