Easy Solution for Trailer Wiring Install Harness Installed Backwards 118648
Question:
I mistakenly installed the controller on the rear Drivers side and ended up with the short green wire going to the left drivers side turn signal, and the long yellow wire going to the right side passenger turn signal. I know that the yellow and green are reversed but after spending the whole day removing the rear bumper cover to route and tie the wires neatly underneath, I dont feel like relocating the controller to the passenger side and rerouting all the wires. Question: Would it be simpler to leave the controller on the drivers side and cut the yellow wire currently coming from the passenger sides rear turn signal and connect it to the green wire going into the controller? And then, vice versa cut the green wire currently coming from the driver sides turn signal and connect it to the yellow wire going into the controller? Would there be any negative impact on the rest of the wiring with this fix? Please help, and thank you in advance.

If I were in your situation I would do exactly what you described. Just swapping the green and yellow wires on the output side of the converter going to the 4-way will take care of the harness being installed backwards without any negative impact at all.
