Recommended 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter for Atwood Gooseneck Folding Hitch Ball

Question:

Hi, we have a 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500 long bed diesel truck that has an Atwood gooseneck folding hitch ball installed. We dont pull horse trailers anymore and would like to get a 5th wheel camper. Is there an adapter that would work safely with the gooseneck brand we have so we can tow a 5th wheel? We read a lot of information on this site but havent seen the Atwood brand mentioned. Thank you.

The reason that we do not have any information regarding the Atwood Gooseneck Folding Hitch Ball is because at this time we do not carry it, although we do carry the Draw-Tite version # 8339-4434.

I do have a solution for you as long as your Atwood hitch instructions do not prohibit the use of an adapter. Since your 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500 has a long bed, I recommend using the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter, part # CAB-C5G. This is one of our top of the line adapters since it uses interior polyurethane cushions to help absorb shock for a more smooth and safe ride. This adapter is rated for 20,000 lbs Towing capacity and 4,000 lbs Pin Weight capacity. It fits on 2-5/16 gooseneck hitch balls and has an adjustable height of 12-16 inches. This adapter will be installed directly to your 5th wheel hitch but is not designed to be used with Sidewinder king pins.

This adapter can be further secured using the Master Lock Covered Solid Body Padlocks # 141T.

I have included some demonstration videos for you to view as well.
