Troubleshooting Leaking RV Shower

Question:

When the shower is being used in our rv, regency 2010, water shoots out of the hole under the vacuum breaker. Does the breaker need to be replaced and how do we do that. Is its function like a pressure relief valve and its stuck in the open position? The faucet assembly is a Phoenix but no model number on the pamphlet.

Helpful Expert Reply:

Basically, a vacuum breaker has a piece of plastic that is held in place by water pressure. If the water pressure is to drop the piece will spring out of the way exposing a vent that will allow air to enter.

Your leak could be from the vacuum breaker being open letting water run through it all the time. The replacement we carry for Phoenix Faucets is # PF273002. The install instructions are linked to this page. You'll want to look at yours and make sure it's the same before ordering.
