Recommended Flat-Towing Parts Needed For 2014 Ford C-Max
Question:
I have a 2014 C-Max Energi that I will be getting ready to tow behind a new 2017 Tiffin Allegro motorhome. This will be a do-it-myself project. I watched your excellent video on installing the base plate and was wondering if you have made one for routing the wiring harness? Also, I have used Roadmaster tow bars in the past but noticed you sell both Roadmaster and Blue Ox. Which is the most dependable? Thank you.

All of the base plate kits we carry are very dependable. Personally, I like the Demco tow bars the best because of their independant arms. The Demco base plate kit for your 2014 Ford C-Max is part # DM9518305. To pair up with the base plates use the Demco Commander # DM9511012. It also includes safety cables.
The tow bar lighting I recommend is the Roadmaster, part # 154-792-118158. I have attached a link to an install video for this on a 2014 C-Max.
For a supplemental brake system I recommend part # SM99251.
Most likely you will need a high-low adapter. I have attached a link to our product page for the adapters that we offer, and also attached a link to a helpful article that explains how to find the correct one.
