Does Factory Brake Controller For 2005 Ford F-350 Have To Be Flashed When Re-Installing
Question:
My son bought a 2005 F350 that has a TBC fault that appears. The factory brake controller was disconnected and when we plugged it in the rear brake lights came on and a beeping was heard. There is additional 7-prong plug mounted in the truck bed. Could it be possible that the previous owner may have used a different controller and had the fault codes removed and by going back to the factory controller. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like the factory brake controller was disconnected on the 2005 F-350. When those were disconnected it was necessary to go to the dealership and have the computer flashed so an aftermarket brake controller could be used.
Now when you re-connected the factory controller you will need to go back to the dealership and have the computer re-flashed to accept the factory brake controller signals.
Or you could just replace the factory brake controller with a nice controller like the P3, part # 90195. If the truck has a factory 7-way you can use a plug-in adapter like part # 3065-P to plug in the brake controller.
