Difference Between Roadmaster EZ4 and EZ5 Base Plates for 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Im intrested in buying a baseplate for my 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimted. It apprears the EZ4 and the EZ5 by Roadmaster will both work for me. Can you tell me the difference between the two units? Thank you

Both the Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate Kit # RM-521448-4 and EZ5 Base Plate Kit # RM-521448-5 will fit on your 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. The primary difference between the two designs is the way they attach to the tow bar. The EZ5 does not use the quick-connect crossbar which provides a cleaner look, but prevents you from using some accessories that mount to the crossbar such as a Rock Guard like the Roadmaster # RM-4000. If you are at all interested in using a rock guard or protective screening, I recommend the Roadmaster EZ4 # RM-521448-4.
If you don't have them already, there are a few more items needed to complete your flat towing setup.
For a tow bar to tow your Jeep Wrangler, I recommend the Roadmaster Falcon 2 # RM-520. This is a hitch mounted tow bar that can easily slide into the receiver opening of your RV and has a capacity of 6,000 lbs.
For a custom tail light wiring kit, you can use the Hopkins # HM56200.
For a tow bar brake system on your Jeep Wrangler, I recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251. This is a great proportional braking system that will activate the brakes on your Jeep at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to your RV.'s brakes. You will also need the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit # RM-88400 to prevent the Jeep's brake signal from overriding the turn signal from the RV when applying brakes during a turn.
Lastly, you will need a safety cable set like the RoadMaster 68" Single Hook # RM-643 with a gross trailer weight rating of 6,000 lbs.
