Recommended Air Spring Suspension Enhancement System For 2017 F150 Lariat 4x4
Question:
I am looking for advice on the overall best solution for adding rear support to my vehicle to tow boat 6,000lbs or add cargo weight in bed without sagging or rough ride. I did have my truck leveled with Ready Lift 2.25inch kit. I am looking at air bag kits such as Loadlifter 5000 item # 57284 or FIrestone products. This is my first experience with Air bags, curious if they impact ride quality for non loaded, daily driving. Can they simply be fully deflated and not used or felt any during daily driving? The F150 is a very smooth driving truck and I dont want to change that for my daily driving.

For your 2016 Ford F-150 Lariat 4x4, air springs are the right solution for your concerns. They can be inflated to support the extra load and deflated to 5 psi (not a change in feel) for your daily driving.
I recommend the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs - Rear Axle # AL57385. These springs have a 5000 lb capacity which is far more than needed to keep your vehicle from sagging when towing your 6000 lb boat or carrying cargo in the bed. These springs are adjustable between 5 psi and 100 psi to help support your load. This kit comes with the manual inflation valves and air lines for you to run to a convenient location of your choosing.
If you want the convenience of a compressor to inflate or deflate your air springs from the comfort of your cab, I recommend the Air Lift Load Controller Compressor System for Air Helper Springs- Heavy Duty - Single Path # AL25854. This will give you a gauge for your cab as well as a switch to inflate or deflate the springs. It will automatically kick in if it senses your air spring pressure us too low. You will want the heavy duty system for faster functioning.
