Parts Needed to Tow a Trailer with a 1999 Saab 9-3

Question:

Hi I have a SAAB 9-3 Convertible, I have installed a Curt hitch on it just for my bikes. But I am thinking of buying a canoe trailer. Light and easy trailer. But - how hard is it to make the wiring? And what do I need for Product?

Your 1999 Saab 9-3 uses a wiring harness with a powered converter to protect the vehicle's wiring. You can use the Curt # C59236 for a 4-way connector. This will power the running, brake, and turn signals of a trailer. I've attached an install video for your. Although it's on a BMW the process will be very similar.

You also may need a ball mount like the Curt # C45521. This ball mount provides either 2-5/8 inches or rise or 7-1/4 inches of drop. To find the correct rise or drop you need check out the article I linked. Once you know what you need I've also linked our selection of ball mounts to fit your Saab's hitch.

You'll also need a pin and clip, # F-4 and a hitch ball either a 2 inch, # A-82 or 1-7/8 inch # A-80.
