Recommended Brake Controller And Wiring For 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Question:
Hi, I have a 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that currently has a simple 4 pin trailer plug on the back next to the hitch. Id like to add a brake controller so I can pull a trailer with electric brakes so I assume Ill have to upgrade to a 7 pin plug and run a new harness from under the dash. Do you have the parts to do this? Thanks.

We sure do have everything you need to get a brake controller installed in your 2011 Wrangler unlimited.
Since there is no plug-in adapter available for your Jeep you will need to hardwire the brake controller. First I recommend part # ETBC7. This plugs into the 4-way and with additional wiring gives you a working 4-way and 7-way.
I recommend the P2 brake controller, part # 90885. This is our most popular because it is easy to install and operate.
I have attached a drawing that shows how the wiring is run when you install the # ETBC7 and a brake controller. I also attached a couple of helpful articles that also explain hoe to install both. I attached a link to an installation video for a brake controller and wiring on a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited you can check out.
