Hopkins Impulse Brake Controller Reading E1 When Manual Override Is Engaged

Hopkins Impulse Brake Controller. Led light does not light up Constant power on black wire checksred wire lights when brake pedal is depressedblue wire lights when controller is engaged but the led reads E1 when i engage the controller manually

I reached out to my contact at Hopkins and it sounds like everything is functioning correctly except for the E1 code when you hit the manual override. That tells us that there is a problem somewhere on that blue controller output wire. There is a short somewhere to ground. This could be a nick in the wire insulation or it could be corrosion at the connector.
I recommend cleaning all your contact points and tracing your wire if that doesn't solve your error code to check for issue. You can replace that wire if needed completely with # 10-1-1 sold by the foot.
