Picking Out Replacement 3,500 lb Spring For Trailer

Question:

please see the photo - I was told I need a 26inch but I will confirm the measurement eye to eye. DO I need to do any other measurements while underneath? I have a square original axle - 3500 is best guess, and one side has 7 leaves and e curb side only 4 leaves, yet it seem level? Do yo have the shackle-ubolts that will fit the square axle - I measure the axle width to be 1 3/4inch

Expert Reply:

The springs allow the trailer to sit level even though they have differing amount of leaves because the axle sits on top of the spring and the leaves are added to the bottom of the springs. That being said we strongly recommend you run the same springs on both sides of the trailer and replace them in pairs.

What you would then want to do is measure the springs you have when there isn't a load on the trailer. If 26 inches is about what you have then the correct spring would be the part # e54SR.

We don't have square u-bolts for 1-3/4 inch axles though as that is not a common size.
