Recommended Backing Plates For 8 Foot Sections Of E-Track On Pressure Treated Floor

Question:

I was just wondering if you could tell me how many of these backing plates you recommend I install on the back of my E-track. I am attaching two 8ft e-track rails to an open 6x10 utility trailer with a pressure treated wood floor. I just need to know how many backing plates to buy? I assume 3-4 plates per 8ft section would be sufficient, but i just wanted to make sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

I recommend using 2 to 3 E-Track Backing Plate - Zinc Plated Steel - 6-1/2" Long x 6" Wide, # BPEZ for a 5 foot section of Erickson Horizontal E-Track # E19148. Depending on the thickness of your pressure treated floor would determine if I'd use 2 or 3. If it is a sturdy floor, you can use 2 with one on each end. If you want maximum support, I'd use 3 and put one in the center of the track as well.
