Vent Availability for Running Battery in Enclosed Trailer

Question:

Hi there Im currently adding some 12v led spot lights to my enclosed trailer. The kind you usually see on bumpers or head racks. its a wells cargo 5x8 , my plan is to place a deep cycle marine battery in the front of the trailer to run the lights while loading/unloading. Im fine if it runs that battery down so long as I get a couple of hours out of it before I have to recharge it. theft is a problem so the plan was to have the battery inside the trailer not on the tongue. This will also keep keys out of the SUV while setting up but Is this safe? Ive read a few sites talking bout gasses as the battery is in use. Hope you can help. Have a great day

There are a lot of people who run batteries on the interiors of their trailers without problems. What you can do is install a battery vent like part # A10-3300 on the trailer and it would be vented. Ideally you would have the battery sealed in a box with only the vent as a way to get to air.
