What is the Length of Reese Goose Box # RP85FR
Question:
I own a 2012 Montana equipped with a MorRide hitch. The hitch is 32 inches long from the rear of the pin box Lippert 1716 to the centre of the king pin. I am inquiring as to how long the Reese Goose box is? I just purchased a 2017 Dodge 3500 short box and would like to have the goose neck towing gear to free up as much space as possible in the truck box. The Dodge has the factory goose neck/5th wheel prep package. I am also tired of lifting heavy 5th wheel hitches in and out of the truck box to free up space when not pulling! The design of the front of the Montana should allow for ample room for turning compared to a square front on other 5th wheel models as long as the Goose Box provides the same dimensions as the existing hitch does.

The Reese Goose Box # RP85FR measures 17-3/4 inches from the center of the coupler to the center of the nearest row of bolt holes. I included a picture showing this. The replacement pin boxes are usually about the same or very near the length of the originals.
To use this Goose Box with the Lippert 1716 pin box you will need spacer kit # RP61301.
