Recommended Trailer Brake Assemblies for 5,200 to 7,000 Pound Tandem Axle Trailer
Question:
I have an older livestock trailer that I need to replace the brake assemblies on. I dont know the weight ratings of the axles, but it is a tandem axle with a GVWR of 12,000 lbs. I believe the numbers on the back of plate 5 hole plate are: Dexter 36-89 12X2 DXO ??BG SEC66 Would about any of the 12X2 5 hole assemblies work?

Yes, your 12 x 2 axles are going to be 5,200 to 7,000 pound axles. The brakes I recommend are # AKEBRK-7L-SA for the left and # AKEBRK-7R-SA for the right. These are self adjusting so they only need to be adjusted once at installation then left alone. I've included a couple of videos you be interested in as well.
