12 Volt Hot Lead Stopped Working on 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 Factory 7-Way Trailer Connector
Question:
My HOT lead on the factory 7 way trailer plug quit working for trailer battery charging It worked fine the last 4 years but dead now. Ive checked every fuse I could find and nothing for that lead. Any help would be appreciated.

Consult the various fuse panel lids and check for a relay related to the tow package 12 volt circuit because if it isn't a fuse but that circuit uses a relay then it is likely the relay is bad on your 2006 Dodge Ram 3500.
You can also inspect the wiring as much as you are able and fix any pinched or damaged wires.
And if all else fails you can bypass the factory wiring to the 7-Way by running your own wire from the 7-Way (by removing the factory 12 volt wire connected to the back in the 11 o'clock position and replacing it with your own wire) up to the battery and attaching it to the positive battery terminal via a 40 amp circuit breaker # PK54540. For wire you can use # 10-1-1 sold by the foot.
