The item you selected, Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4, part # 24692, will fit your 2000 Ford Focus ZX3 hatchback. Part # 24692 will also fit the Ford Focus sedan model. If you have the Wagon model, you will need Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 24682.

If you are going to be towing, you will need wiring, draw bar, hitch ball, pin and clip to complete your towing setup.

For wiring, I would recommend 4-Pole Hardwire Kit Including Circuit Tester, part # 18252. You will need to use the included circuit tester to test wire functions on your vehicle and use included quick splice connectors to connect the wires. I have linked a video on circuit testing on a vehicle. Part # 18252 will give you a 4-way connector at the rear of your vehicle. If you have the wagon model, you will need T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 118344.

For a draw bar, you will need Sportframe Drawbar, part # 3593, which can be used as a 2-1/8 inch rise or 2-3/4 inch drop. You will need to measure to see how much of a rise or drop you will need (see ball mount FAQ).

For a hitch ball, depending on what size coupler your trailer uses, you will need 1-7/8 Inch Hitch Ball, part # 19256, 2 Inch Hitch Ball, part # 19258.

Last, you will need Pin and Clip For Class I and II Trailer Hitch, part # PC2. If you would prefer a locking hitch pin, we have Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock, part # e98879.

I have linked instructions for the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 24692. There is also a video review on circuit testing and an FAQ on ball mounts that you may find as a good reference.
