Troubleshooting New Trailer Reverse Lock Out Solenoid that Isn't Allowing Trailer to Back Up

Question:

I have a 2011 F-150 crew 4x4 but I have used it on Dodge 2,500 and Ford 250 as well. I started having trouble several months ago with master cylinder recently moved to reverse solenoid. I have a Titan actuator 20,000lbs. Several months ago I noticed that master cylinder was dry I added break fluid and noticed the next day it was dry again. I added more break fluid and inspected I thought it may have been leaking from boot. So I ordered another master cylinder and ordered all break pads, caliper seal and dust boot for caliper on all axles all of this was ordered from etrailer and was either Titan product or Kodiac for breaks. Once I replaced all of this I started having trouble with reverse solenoid so I went to a local trailer shop bought a new one installed it and was still having trouble. The original solenoid had a ground wire on it so I thought that may have been the problem. I brought the solenoid back and ordered the Titan solenoid on etrailer. I installed it and was still having issues. I got in etrailers website and looking at my past orders and noticed the master cylinder I ordered was for drum breaks and not disc so I ordered another titan master cylinder for disc breaks I replaced that and still having trouble I ended up taking ground that went from solenoid to bolt on actuator and ran it to ground wire on 4 way pig tail that grounds to different part of trailer to see if that made a difference which it did not. I did notice when brakes lock in reverse that master cylinder is leaking where solenoid screws into master cylinder it is a very slow leak and does not leak when it not in reverse. I have bleed lines and calipers to make sure no air is in either. Please let me know what else I need to do. All parts that I have put on trailer was ordered with etrailer so you should be able to look up my history.

I checked your order notes and you do have a Model 10 actuator which is what the solenoid part # T4748800 is designed to fit. When you put the vehicle in reverse can you hear the solenoid click? That would indicate it is activating. It sounds like you may still be chasing a ground problem for the solenoid.

What I would do is use a car battery to run jumper wires to the solenoid to see if that makes it start working. If you have long enough wires you could even put the battery in bed of your truck and jump them from there so you can test to see if the solenoid will allow your trailer to back up.
