I would suggest using a circuit tester # PTW2993, to check your vehicle side connection first. If you have a 4-way flat connector, check the brown wire directly next to the ground post with the probe while the clip is connected to a clean ground. If you have a 7-way connector, the brown taillight wire will be at the 11 o'clock position. If you have a power to that connector, then the vehicle is working correctly. If you do not, then I would recommend checking the parking light fuse, which is F29 as outlined in your 2015 Ram 2500 owner's manual.

If the vehicle side is operating correctly, I would suggest checking for corrosion in the trailer connector first. If that isn't the issue, then check for a damaged section of wire, and then check your trailer's ground. Make sure the ground connections are free of rust, corrosion, and debris so you have a solid metal to metal contact. If that doesn't solve your running lights issue, check your light bulbs. Next, use the circuit tester to check the running light wire at your trailer lights. If that is not working, replace the running light wire with 12 gauge wire # 12-2-1. I've attached a trailer wiring diagram to help.
