Video Transcript for Review of Taylor Made Boat Accessories - Gas Strut Mounting Brackets - 3691881

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at these Taylor Made angled mounting brackets for gas struts, and it is for a quantity of two brackets. I'll just zoom in to show you. You can see these are angled mounting brackets, which we'll install in the door of your boat hatch to provide an attachment point for your gas struts. Basically, the strut socket end right here will attach to this 10 millimeter ball on the bracket. These are a zinc plated steel, makes them sturdy and corrosion resistant.

Now to install these, you can see the five mounting holes on the bottom here. You use the mounting screws to install these. Now the screws are not included because we don't know what type of material that these will be installed onto. So you do have to supply the mounting screws. The mounting hole diameter on these five holes is three sixteenths of an inch.

Again, this is for a quantity of two brackets. The ball diameter 10 millimeters, and just to give you a few dimensions on the bracket itself, the overall width of it, it's right at two inches wide. The overall height on it can be right at one and three eighths inches tall, and the depth on it is right at seven eights of an inch deep. But that should do it for the review on the Taylor Made angled mounting brackets for gas struts.

I still need to ship the item overseas and from the looks of it from video conferencing everything seems as advertised.

by:

Absolutely perfect. Struts now exert pressure on bracket surface instead of side. No more pulled screws.

It works for the purpose intended.

I confirmed with my contact at Taylor Made that the Taylor Made Marine Gas Strut for Boat Hatches - 10 mm Socket # 3691834-20 does not come with the 10mm ball. If you need just the ball, I recommend the # TM73FR. We also sell the brackets with the balls already installed with part # 3691881. We recommend that if your boat lockers uses two lift supports, you should always replace them as a pair. Typically, if one support is losing charge from use as it ages, both supports are in a similar...
