7-Way Recommendation for 2007 Toyota Tacoma To Allow Trailer Battery to Charge

Question:

I have a 2007 4 door pre-runner Toyota Tacoma with V-6 and automatic that did not come with the towing package. I have a class 3 receiver hitch and want to see what I need to hook up to a trailer that would allow me to charge the trailer battery off the tow vehicle. thanks,

You would first need to start with a 4-way. Which for that you would need the part # 118496 which is a confirmed fit. I attached an install video for this as well.

Next you need the part # 37185 to convert it to a 7-way. Now to activate the 12 volt circuit of this adapter to allow your battery to charge you would need to run a length of 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot) from the black wire of the adapter, through a circuit breaker like part # 3510 and finally to the positive post of your vehicle battery.
