6,000 lb Leaf Spring Recommendation for a 2003 Holiday Rambler Presidential

Question:

Hi. I have a 2003 Holiday Rambler Presidential 28” Travel Trailer. It seems the springs are sagging to the point that I only have 1 - 1 1/2 inches of clearance from the top of the tire to the wheel well. My axles are Dexter 5200 lbs. My current spring is a four leaf 25-1/4” X 1-3/4”. Since you dont list a 5200 lb axle, I’m assuming that I should get a spring for a 6000 lb axle. You have two listed. A five leaf 6000-lb spring 25 -1/4” and a four leaf 6000 lb 25 - 1/8”. I’m leaning toward the five leaf just because I could use any addition clearance I can get even if it is only 3/8” from the additional leaf. I don’t want to do a spring over. Is there a down side to going with the five leaf? Also, I’m considering upgrading to the EZ-Flex equalizer. Will I lose any clearance at the top of the tire by doing that? Thanks for any help you can offer.

The 5 leaf spring part # e34SR would be the best choice since a bit more fender clearance is desired. This will match right up to your trailer and will work well.

As long as you pick out the correct dimension EZ flex to replace the equalizers on your trailer no fender clearance would be lost either.

You are going to have to measure your current equalizers to find the correct one. The part # K71-653-00 is a replacement for a 7-3/4 inch equalizer and the part # K71-652-00 is a replacement for a 5-5/8 inch equalizer.
