Brake Controller Install Recommendation for a 1999 Ford Ranger
Question:
I believe I have narrowed down the brake controller to the Tekonsha 90160. I have a 1999 Ford Ranger 6 cylinder with a 4-pole plug in for lights on my utility trailer. I need a wiring harness to hook up a 2500lb. gross weight camper. Duel axle. Can you help me get all that I need for safe towing? Im sure I will need other things before we actually get on the road, but one crisis at a time. Please help. Sincere Thanks,

The Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller # TK90160 is as great controller that would work well in your 1999 Ford Ranger.
To install it all you need is the brake controller install kit part # ETBC7. This will convert your 4-way to a 7-way and then comes with everything needed to wire up the controller as well.
I attached an install video that shows this being used to install a controller in a similar 2006 Ranger.
