Troubleshooting Curt Pop In Ford Gooseneck C60601 that Doesnt Release
Question:
I purchased a removeable gooseneck hitch for the factory installed reciever from you the trip lever moves freely, but it seems the rod is either broken or an internal spring is broken. I called before and your rep referred me to the manufacturer who was not very forth coming. I cannot remove the ball. Mike

Expert Reply:
On the bottom of the hitch ball there is a plastic plug. Remove this plug. Using a pliers, manually turn the paddle to allow the retaining balls to retract. If the retaining balls do not retract, spray liberally with penetrating oil. If the retaining balls remain set, force will need to be applied via a hammer to the hitch ball to attempt to jar the retaining balls loose.
