Height Profile of the Yakima HighRoad Roof Bike Rack and the Thule Sidearm Above Crossbar
Question:
We have an infinity QX80 which has a very high roof line. Even without bike racks it can be challenging to pull into some parking garages. I am trying to find bike racks, that when folded down, have the lowest profile when installed on the factory rails. Can you tell me the installed height difference between the HighRoller and the Thule Sidearm... how tall are each from the top of the vehicles crossbar rails to the highest point on the racks? Thanks in advance!

Expert Reply:
I spoke with my contact over at Thule about the bike carrier # TH599000. With the arm folded down the overall height from the top of the roof rack crossbars to the highest part of the carrier is 10 inches. I have included a picture showing this for you.
I also spoke with my contact at Yakima who informed me that the Highroad part # Y02114 would add 6 inches to the top of your crossbars when installed.
