Do Roof Racks for 2006 Volkswagen Routan Interfere with Door Opening

I have a 2009 Routan witn no roof rails. I see the various products available but Im concerned with how the clips work with the sliding doors. I can see the feet fit into the rain channel but not sure how the hold down clips dont interfere with the door operation. Can you provide a copy of the installation instructions or explain how the clips connect?
