Is a Slider Hitch Needed with a Sidewinder Pin Box

Question:

I have a sidewinder with a pullrite hitch. I have to back into the pullrite exactly straight or it will not full latch. It is hard to do some times in my Ford F250. Is the Demco Hijaccker Auto Slide easier to hook up?

With the Demco Hijacker Auto Slide hitch part # DM8550024 our contacts at Demco has told us that you can be up to 15 degrees out from perfectly straight for the hitch to connect.

But if you have a Sidewinder why do you want a sliding hitch? Is yours locked out and are you using it like a standard pin box? If so, you are missing out on how great they are to tow with. You wouldn't need a slider hitch if your Sidewinder was unlocked and your trailer would be much easier to back up as well.

Going with the Sidewinder unlocked and a stationary hitch like part # RP30928 will be your best option. Stationary hitches mean less moving parts and less weight.
