Replacement Bracket Recommendation for Moving RV License Plate for Increased Visibility
Question:
So I have a class B RV with a floating trailer. That itself doesnt obstruct the license plate, but the metal lockbox and spare tire on the trailer do. This is in CA. While Ive not been stopped for this, Im concerned it will eventually result in nuisance stops or worse, fix-it tickets. I also want to safely travel the U.S. without this worry. Considering relocating the license plate or... getting a 3rd paper plate saw that here. Advice? Ive room on the back door I never open to move the plate where it would be visible or attach a 3rd/copy plate. But Id have to rig a light, too, yes? Do RV or people pulling trailers even floating ones without wheels like mine get a pass? Thank you!

It really just depends on the mood of the police officer. At least in our area they don't really mess with RVers who happened to have a plate that's not visible. But that can really depend on where you are at and how bored the cop would be. Moving the plate should be too hard either. A bracket like the part # CE26053A would be the easiest way to do it but then if you wanted to run a bracket with a light you would need the # LPL55CB.
You would need to tap into the running light circuit of your RV wiring to power the light.
