2005 Chevy Avalanche Engine Oil and Transmission Cooler Recommendation

Question:

I have a 2005 Chevy Avalanche that I will be using to pull a travel trailer weighing up to 4500 pounds and I will be towing this trailer in the mountains semi-regularly. The truck has a 5.3 V8 and 3.42 rear end. I was considering buying a D15405 engine oil cooler and a D13504 transmission cooler. Are these the right choices for this application? And, if so, what else would I need to buy to complete the installation?

At the very least you would want the transmission cooler part # D13504 that you referenced. For towing situations a transmission cooler is always going to help prolong the life of the transmission. Typically for your truck an oil cooler is needed, but if your truck is getting pretty hot the part # D15405 would fit your truck and would help lower oil temperatures. It comes with the right threaded adapter for your truck as well.

For the transmission cooler you will want the part # D13035 as well so that you don't have to cut any metal transmission lines. See install video as well.
