Is 16 Gauge Wire Adequate for Trailer Wiring for Lighting
Question:
I am re-wiring the running lights 2/brake lights/lic plate lights on a 13 foot vintage camper. It had a 4 prong on it. Will a 16 gauge 4 prong be an adequate replacement for this system. No trailer brakes.

Most trailer wiring that runs to trailer lights is 16 gauge. I would rather people use 14 or 12 unless the lights are LED which draw considerably less. But for most people 16 gauge works just fine for basic trailer lighting. If you are planning on running several running lights or just more lights in general you would want thicker wire.
