Will a Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter, part # AM3100, Haul Safely
Question:
I have read that these adapters put extra strain on the trailer frame and can cause damage to the king pin box. Is this true? Are these still safe to use?

I talked with our contact at Andersen and he said that they have sold quite a few of these Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter, part # AM3100, and they have had no serious issues with them unless the trailer was unusually long and heavy. He said that if your trailer is longer than 38 feet long and is considerably heavy, you should check to make sure that you have a quality pin box installed in your trailer.
My contact also said that if you are still unsure, it would be a good idea to take your truck to a qualified installer and have them review your setup and decide what the best option would be for your hauling needs.
