The Hayes Air Brake Control, # HA100400C, will work with the air brakes on your Alfa motor home and trailers with electric brakes, but not the 2008 Lincoln MKX (which would require a different type of braking system like the Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Proportional Braking System, # RM-9400).
On the Air Utility Brake Control, in addition to connecting to the air brake system, there are also 3 wires that will need to be connected. The black wire provides power to the unit, the blue wire is for brake output to the electric trailer brakes, and the red wire connects to the stop light wire on the brake switch. This red wire actuates the stop lights when the controller is operated manually.
The blue wire will go back to the rear of the motor home and attach to the blue wire on a 7-Way (7 oclock position if looking at the back of a 7-Way). The black wire will need to attach to a 12 volt power source such as the terminal of the starter solenoid or relay. The red wire will need to be attached to the output side of the motor home stop light switch.
