Why Would Exhaust Rattle On Hitch Installed on a 2015 GMC Terrain

Question:

I purchased the Draw Tight class III hitch for my 2015 GMC Terrain and had it installed at my GMC dealer. I am very pleased with it, except for one small detail. Sometimes when I turn a corner and hit a bump I hear a rattle. Like it is hitting on the exhaust. I saw a comment about that before I bought it and cannot find the solution. Any Ideas?

Helpful Expert Reply:

Sometimes exhaust can rattle up against a trailer hitch since they typically install pretty close to each other.

Exhaust pipes and mufflers hang on rubber isolators. The hangers can usually be manipulated to gain more clearance between the exhaust and the hitch. I have included a link to the right that covers the different fixes for this problem.
