Using Part # ETBC6 to Install Brake Controller on 1999 Chevy Astro
Question:
I understand the four pole wiring. Where do I connect the other wires on a 1999 Astro van for a brake controller?

Expert Reply:
The 4 to 6-way trailer connector adapter supplied with the Brake Controller Installation Kit has a 4-pole connector that connects to the existing 4-pole on your Astro.
The remaining wires attach as follows:
The black wire provides 12-volt power for use by any trailer mounted accessories requiring a power feed. This wire would run to the positive battery terminal via the 40 amp inline breaker included in the kit.
The blue wire carries the output from the brake controller. It would run under the vehicle into the engine compartment, and pass through the firewall, ultimately attaching to the blue wire on the controller.
The white wire is grounded to clean metal.
We have a help article that will walk you through the brake controller installation, I will provide a link to it below.
